"We thought an online file server was the way to safely share information throughout the company." — Melissa Gannon, Corporate Operations, MCR Development

Bring simplicity and visibility to file sharing

Box makes it easy to share files both large and small with colleagues and external partners, including all your documents and media content. Box’s Business edition also provides tools to monitor and manage activity across all the users in your Box account. This includes:

  • What files are uploaded and downloaded
  • Access permissions for individual users and entire departments
  • Password protection and time-based restrictions on shared files
  • Comments and discussions around files
  • The ability to generate and export file and user activity

Together, these features provide a complete audit trail on what’s happening with your company’s files. It’s not only easy to share content with Box — it’s easy to make sure content is shared in accordance with company processes and policies.

Easily share huge files (up to 1GB) with a single vendor or account manager, or an entire department.

How does it work?

Sharing the Box way

It's foolproof. Create a project folder. Then simply drag and drop or select multiple files from your desktop to put onto Box. To share these files, just send a link or invite partners to view or edit. If you give someone permission to edit, they can add comments to files, start a discussion, or upload their own files into your shared project folder. Create as many project folders as you wish and control which partners get access and permission to edit to each one.

Taking control with the Business edition

Sensitive materials? With the Business edition of Box you can restrict files to Preview Only or Upload Only. Preview Only allows partners to view a document online, but not download the file to their hard drive. With Upload Only, partners can upload files without accessing the folder itself. Anonymous uploading, also available, is a great way to manage the bidding process. It's like having a virtual “drop box.” Business users can also schedule a time when certain files will be deleted or when a link will be deactivated.

Staying on top of the process

Say goodbye to guesswork. The Updates tab on Box will keep you informed on all the files you've shared. You’ll always know when a partner, client, or vendor downloads a file, uploads new content, adds comments, or starts a discussion. You can also choose to get activity updates via email. With the Business edition, you can run complete reports on all Box activities over time, increasing oversight and control over vital projects.
