To benefit from Box’s powerful sharing, storage, and access features, the first thing you will need to do is upload files or folders into your account.

Add Files
To upload a file to your Box, click the 'Upload' button in the upper-right of the file display area.

A pop-up window will appear.

Click on the 'Add Files' button, and an additional window will open. This will show you the files on your computer. Locate the file you would like to upload as you would when you select a file to attach to an email, and then click 'Open.'

The file will now appear in your upload window. To upload it to your Box account, click the 'Upload' button at the bottom of the window.

If you would like to upload multiple files with the 'Add files' feature please check that your Add Files upload settings reflect Flash. In order to do so, please click the 'Settings' link and select the 'Upload Settings' category. If necessary, switch the 'Add files type' from 'Ajax Upload' to 'Flash Upload.'

Now, you will be able to upload more than one file using the 'Add Files' feature. If you are experiencing difficulty using the 'Flash Upload' method please verify that you are using the latest versions of Flash (Click here to check). Additionally, you can use the 'Drag and Drop' feature to upload multiple files, larger files or even entire folders and their contents. This method will allow your uploads to resume even if your internet connection is interrupted.

Drag and Drop
To upload files and folders using the Drag and Drop feature click the 'Upload' button in the upper-right of the file display area.

A pop-up window will appear.

Click on 'drag and drop' and a java applet will appear. Once the applet is done loading you will see the pop-up window shown below.

If you find that the pop-up window did not properly load please click here for troubleshooting steps. If the window properly loaded, you can now drag and drop files onto the applet or click 'Add' to browse and select files and folders from your computer.

Once you are done adding file(s) and/or folder(s) onto the upload window click on 'Start Upload.'

Email Uploads
You can upload files via email by attaching the files and sending the email messages to upload@box.net .  To use this feature please ensure that you are using the email address associated with your Box.net account.  The files you attached will be placed in a folder called 'Upload from email' which can be found on your ‘All Files’ page.
