What is OpenBox?
Available to all users, the OpenBox platform connects data from Box.net with other applications and services across the web.
What OpenBox Applications are available?
An overview of the OpenBox applications currently available can be found here.
How do I add an OpenBox Application to my account?
There are two ways to add an OpenBox Application:
1. Navigate to the 'OpenBox' page and click on 'See All Applications.' Once you find the service you would like to add, click the 'Add Application' button. A pop-up will ask you to confirm; click 'OK', and the application will be added.
2. Navigate to the 'All Files' page. Next to any file, click on the little blue button with the download arrow and select 'Add applications.' This will take you to the Openbox page. Click on the 'Add Application' button to view all available applications. Once you find the application you would like to add, click the 'Add Application' button. A pop-up will ask you to confirm; click 'OK', and the application will be added.

Once I've added an application, how do I use it to work with one of my files?
To use an OpenBox Application, click on the little blue button with downward arrow. All of the applications you have added that are compatible with this specific file type will appear at the bottom of your menu of actions. Select the application you would like to use and click on it. A pop-up window will appear, asking for details about the file and application you are accessing. Enter the appropriate information and click 'OK', and you will be taken to the application's site.
Will these application affect my files?
If you make changes to your files using one of these applications (e.g. edit a photo with Picnik), you can choose whether your edited version will be saved as a new file in your Box or overwrite your existing file. This choice is made in the pop-up window that appears when you select the application you would like to use with a particular file. (Note: Some applications, such as document editing, will not give you this option). When you are not actively using them, the applications will not access or affect your files in any way.
The application I'm trying to use isn't working. What do I do?
