FTP software
Using FTP to download and upload files requires a connection to the server on which the files are held and sent to. Usually, individuals will utilize FTP client software, which is software on your computer that connects to the server and allows you to take certain actions. Sometimes, however, an FTP client is built into an operating system. They can even be put into web sites, such as certain web hosting providers.
